Prerna Ostrowski (nee Bhatia)
Prerna Ostrowski graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry from the University of Melbourne in 2006 and holds therapeutic endorsement, enabling her to prescribe ocular medications for a wide range of eye conditions.
She began her career in regional Victoria, working in Gippsland, where she developed a broad clinical foundation by managing diverse and complex cases in a country setting.
Following this, she spent several years working across metropolitan Melbourne, including a year
dedicated to behavioural optometry.
Prerna has gained further experience in children’s vision while working with various optometry practices across Melbourne.

Jane Over
Jane Over graduated with a Bachelor of Optometry from the University of Melbourne in 1988. Since joining Ivanhoe East Eyecare at its foundation in 1997, she has been a valued and long-standing member of the team.
With decades of experience, Jane has developed a strong clinical focus on ocular health, particularly in the areas of cataracts, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.

Practice Manager & Optical Dispenser
Janet Martin
Janet Martin is a highly experienced optical dispenser and practice manager, with a career spanning over 40 years in both corporate and private optometry settings. She began her journey in the optical industry in 1985, undertaking an apprenticeship in optical fitting and grinding, and completed her Diploma of Optical Dispensing in 1990.
Throughout her career, Janet has developed a deep understanding of lens technology, frame fitting, and personalised patient service. She brings a practical, detail-oriented approach to her work and is passionate about helping patients feel confident and comfortable in their eyewear.

Wendy Thompson
Wendy Thompson began her optometry career shortly after graduating, establishing her own independent practice in Melbourne’s Bayside area.
After successfully growing and running the practice for eight years, she sold it and pursued further education overseas. Wendy completed additional training in the UK, becoming a Member of the British College of Optometrists, and later returned to work as a Senior Optometrist in a busy regional practice in the English countryside.
During this time, Wendy developed advanced skills in contact lens fitting and gained valuable experience in the co-management of diabetic eye disease. After returning to Melbourne, she worked across a variety of clinical settings, further broadening her expertise. In 2010, she completed postgraduate training in ocular therapeutics, allowing her to prescribe medication for a wide range
of eye conditions.
