Wendy Thompson

Professional Background

Wendy Thompson began her optometry career shortly after graduating, establishing her own independent practice in Melbourne’s Bayside area. After successfully growing and running the practice for eight years, she sold it and pursued further education overseas. Wendy completed additional training in the UK, becoming a Member of the British College of Optometrists, and later
returned to work as a Senior Optometrist in a busy regional practice in the English countryside.

During this time, Wendy developed advanced skills in contact lens fitting and gained valuable experience in the co-management of diabetic eye disease. After returning to Melbourne, she worked across a variety of clinical settings, further broadening her expertise. In 2010, she completed postgraduate training in ocular therapeutics, allowing her to prescribe medication for a wide range of eye conditions.
